Writers Must Write is a platform and community for all writers, from the most published to the first-time storyteller. This is a safe space to express yourself and share your writing with others.
“We are all apprentices in a craft where no one ever becomes a master.”
Ernest Hemingway
Your Stories
Share your stories of love, of pain, of courage, of suffering, of hope, of joy, and of laughter. Together we can create this place. Together we can fill our papers and screens and hearts with our shared passion for the written word.
No judgment, no fear, no trolling comments. Just compassion, encouragement, and the understanding that writers must write.
What do you do for yourself that gives you life? If you are a musician, it’s probably making music. If you are an artist, perhaps it’s painting. If you are a writer, then it’s writing that fills your soul and heals your heart. Whether you do these things for yourself or share your gifts with others, one truth is universal – a creative must create.

A Passion Project
Writers Must Write is a passion project created by Nicole Dash, a mother to four, entrepreneur and writer living in Northern Virginia outside Washington DC. After the birth of her fourth child in 2011, she realized she had stopped listening to her inner self. She had suppressed her creativity and felt lost.
One day she started a parenting and lifestyle blog. Her blog wasn’t about making money, or finding fame. It was always about writing, being creative and sharing stories in an authentic way. Once she gave herself permission to write and revive her inner voice, her life shifted.
Nicole discovered a huge community of fellow creatives and entrepreneurs, which gave her the confidence to start a new business concept in 2016. When that business closed, Nicole knew it wasn’t the end for her. Instead, perhaps, it was a new beginning. Once the pain of failure subsided, her unexpected ending brought her to where it all began – the writing.
Writers Must Write is Nicole’s gift to anyone struggling to hear or share their inner voice. A safe space to write and share your own story. No money exchanged, no learning how to code a website, no time spent growing an audience. Just the platform and community you need to begin.

Joy burst from the sound of his giggle. “I’m flying a butterfly,” the little boy who wasn’t more than five years old excitedly shouted from the backseat of his parent’s car. I glanced out my driver side window and our eyes locked. He was strapped into his booster […]

Today, we live in two worlds. One that is physical and one that is metaphysical. The physical world does not need any definition, but the metaphysical world will be defined as the world behind the screen.

My business was my fifth baby. It required me to nurture it, believe in it, choose it over myself, and give and give and give. I did this for more than three years with the utmost faith in what this business could be for me, for my family, and for the many people I was […]

The brunette mermaid faces the ocean. We cannot see her face but her teal body blends into the ocean and skyline as if to say she is one with the world. The simple canvas used to hang over my daughter’s bed. It was a birthday gift from a few years ago that complemented the bold […]
